Philippine Nurse Licensure Exam Question Bank

Next.js · TypeScript · React Hooks · CSS Modules

So I was supposed to be studying for the Philippine Nurse Licensure Exam. Like, actually studying. Textbook open, highlighters ready, the whole thing.

Instead, I kept finding excuses to code. First it was "let me just organize my notes better." Then it was "what if I could quiz myself with a nice interface?" Then suddenly I'm building a full question bank with progress tracking and answer sorting, and my textbook hasn't moved from page 47 in two weeks.

Classic copium. I was procrastinating so hard I accidentally built a study tool.

Plot twist: I passed.

Didn't realize it helped until after the exam. Turns out building quiz logic is weirdly effective at making you actually learn the material.

The Tool

PNLE question bank interface

What It Does

  • Question flow with progress tracking
  • Sidebar that sorts right/wrong answers
  • Review mode — filter just mistakes or just correct answers
  • Background colors to indicate study mode
  • Material organization across two textbooks

Moral of the story: if you're going to procrastinate, at least procrastinate productively.
